Visiting the city
We cannot wait to celebrate with you in Rio. It’s genuinely one of the most beautiful cities on earth, golden beaches, mountains covered in jungle, and a city that just knows how to have a good time. We hope you’re going to love it here!
We know a lot of you are traveling from far away to be here, so while you’re here, don’t just stick to the wedding events (though those will obviously be the highlight). Get some sand between your toes at Ipanema, Leblon and Copacabana, ride the cable car up Sugarloaf at sunset, wander around Santa Teresa’s cobblestone streets, and definitely don’t leave without trying a proper feijoada or grabbing a cold coconut water from a beach kiosk.
Soak it all in. The beaches, the music, the food, the energy of the whole city. To help you get started we’ve put together some of our favorite food and drink spots below to help you make the most of your time here.
Where to stay
Choosing where to stay in Rio makes all the difference, from vibrant Ipanema to energetic Copacabana and everywhere in between. Below we’ve put together a quick guide to the main areas you could stay in with key information, so take a look and see what fits you best. Please do always check out reviews, and if helpful, drop us a message to see our thoughts on the place.
Rio plans before and after the wedding
On the Sunday after the wedding until the Thursday (10th of June) we will be heading to Buzios, a small paradise-like beach town a couple of hours away from Rio.
We would love for you to join us. If you would like to, please do let us know so we can get a group together.
We will also be in Rio the week before the wedding and there will surely be plans. We will let you know of these at a later point.
Food and drink recommendations
Any questions?
We recommend getting an uber straight from your hotel! Just add this as your destination: Círculo Militar da Praia Vermelha.
We appreciate a lot of you are travelling a long distance to be with us, so your presence is the biggest gift! If you would like to give us something nonetheless, we will post a list later on in the website of what some ideas.
The RSVP deadline is 5 January 2027. We appreciate this is quite a while before the wedding, but as we know it takes a bit more planning to make the trip to Brazil, we need to have all RSVPs confirmed by this date. This is also so that, if we invite anyone else after the RSVP deadline, they have enough notice to make the trip.
Don’t worry — you don’t need to have your flights, accommodation or any other plans booked by 5 January! We just ask that you confirm whether you’ll be able to join us.
